For we cannot oppose the truth, but must always stand for the truth.
2 Corinthians 13:8 NLT
The Lord’s mighty power helps me stand strong in the truth.
He places his shield in my hand, and I am protected.
His truth flows into my mind.
The Holy Spirit leads me from sin.
The divine power of truth demolishes all my fears.
Prayer destroys lies.
The power of Jesus takes every thought captive.
May all thoughts bend to His will.
Jesus breaks the chain of fear.
Through Jesus’ power, only worthwhile and productive thoughts remain.
I praise you Lord; you are my encourager.
Your presence fills me with joy.
Forgive me Lord, for my ungrateful actions.
Even when I do not feel it, Lord, you have blessed me with abundant life.
Thank you, Jesus for your divine strength to push back the darkness;
For stirring my heart to be thankful for small blessings.
Give me the strength to praise your name, Lord.
For every day of my life, may you sing joy into my heart.
I Cast all my fear and anxiety at your feet.
Magnify your truth in my mind and remove the world’s distorted lies.
You cripple discouragement,
And strengthen me to stand firm.
Alert me, Holy Spirit whenever half-truths appear.
Give me confidence to praise your Holy Name.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
If you enjoyed my prayer, you may enjoy hearing from other Hopewriters who are also exploring the issue of truth or Lies:
Bethany Barendrengt in her post, You’re Not Powerless: Repenting, Speaking Up, and the Gospel for us all writes, “We must repent of soft core porn that lies to women and hard core porn that leads men to cover their sin with murder.”
Paolo Barrera in her post, Seek and Speak the Truth, writes, “In a noisy world filled with competing perspectives on everything, whatever our truth is (that is, our go-to, uncontested knowledge) will determine much of our emotions and our actions. The danger, then, is when we are holding onto our own version of truth.”
My Western Nest in her post, i am doing what i can, writes, “If you’ve been around the internet for more than 10 minutes, you’ve likely run into people complaining about the state of the world today. Apparently kids these days are just the worst, although I happen to disagree. Because we have information available 24/7, the fallacy that things are worse than ever is easy to accept as truth.”

Yes, I agree Mary Lou. May we be sanctified by the truth.
